SA Weather Service Issues Flood Warnings for KZN and North West
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued warnings of disruptive weather conditions affecting several parts of the country.
KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) is expected to experience up to an 80% chance of rainfall from today, with persistent and heavy showers that may lead to localized flooding, particularly in low-lying and poorly drained areas. Residents are urged to remain cautious, especially near rivers and streams, as water levels may rise rapidly.
Meanwhile, the North West province is under a Level 2 Yellow Warning, with forecasts indicating heavy rainfall that could cause flooding, accompanied by damaging winds and a possible occurrence of hail. These conditions may result in damage to infrastructure, crops, and property.
SAWS has advised communities in affected areas to stay alert, follow official weather updates, and take necessary precautions to reduce the risk to life and property. Emergency services are also on standby to respond to any weather-related incidents.
