Zandile Gumede Resigns from the ANC and Joins the MK Party
Former eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede has officially resigned from the African National Congress (ANC) and joined the MK Party.
The announcement was made during a press briefing in Durban, where MK Party Secretary-General Sbonelo Nomvalo confirmed that Gumede has been appointed as the Deputy Convenor of the MK Party in KwaZulu-Natal.
Gumede’s move to the MK Party is being viewed as a significant political development in the province, given her prominent role in the ANC and her previous tenure as Mayor of eThekwini.
Her appointment is expected to strengthen the MK Party’s leadership in KwaZulu-Natal as the party continues to build its structures and support base in the province.
Speaking after the announcement, Gumede said:
“I would like to express my gratitude for the warm welcome I have received in the MK Party.”
