UDM Asks SA Human Rights Commission to Investigate Bafana Coach Hugo Broos
South Africa, 11 December 2025 – The United Democratic Movement (UDM) has reported Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos to the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) over alleged racist and sexist remarks.
The UDM claims Broos directed inappropriate comments at Bafana’s young centre-back Mbekezeli Mbokazi and his agent, Basia Michaels, following the player’s late arrival to camp on Wednesday.
During a press conference, Broos reportedly questioned the 20-year-old player’s professionalism and cast doubt on the guidance Mbokazi is receiving from his agent. The UDM says the remarks are discriminatory and has called for the SAHRC to investigate the matter thoroughly.
