“From 31 July, Foreign Nationals Will No Longer Be Allowed to Operate These Businesses” – Phakelumthakathi Issues New Warning

The leader of the Insizwa Nobunsizwa Development Foundation, Phakelumthakathi, has issued a strong warning directed at foreign nationals living in South Africa, saying that from 31 July 2026, they will no longer be allowed to operate certain types of businesses.

In a statement posted on social media, Phakelumthakathi said foreign nationals should no longer own or run businesses such as:

  • Tuck shops
  • Salons
  • Barbershops
  • Spaza shops
  • Cash & Carry stores
  • Taxi services
  • Uber services
  • And other similar businesses.

Phakelumthakathi stated:

“We as Insizwa Nobunsizwa Development Foundation urge illegal foreigners to respect this peace call. It’s a South African reserved right. It’s our country, we are men and we are obliged to respect and protect it.”

He concluded his message with the slogan:

“ABAHAMBE.”

These are statements made by Phakelumthakathi and the Insizwa Nobunsizwa Development Foundation. At the time of publication, there had been no official announcement by the South African government introducing a law or regulation that would prohibit foreign nationals from operating these businesses from 31 July 2026.
