Julius Malema Says Returning Land to South Africans Is the Only Real Path to Creating Millions of Jobs

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says the only sustainable way to create millions of jobs in South Africa is by returning land to its people. He argued that unemployment cannot be solved simply by blaming foreign nationals, but by transforming land ownership and the country’s economic structure.

Malema said land is the foundation of economic development, agriculture, food production, and entrepreneurship. According to him, giving South Africans access to land would enable them to build businesses, produce food, and create employment opportunities.

The EFF leader also criticised the belief that removing undocumented foreign nationals from the country would solve the unemployment crisis. While acknowledging the importance of enforcing immigration laws, he maintained that the root cause of unemployment is economic inequality and the lack of access to productive resources such as land.

His remarks come as debates over land reform, unemployment, and immigration continue to dominate South Africa’s political landscape, with different political parties proposing contrasting solutions to the country’s economic challenges.
