Mother in Pain After 2-Year-Old Daughter Tests HIV Positive

A mother of three has sparked widespread emotional reactions on social media after revealing that her **two-year-old daughter tested positive for HIV**, while both parents and the child’s siblings tested negative.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the woman expressed shock, confusion, and deep emotional pain over the diagnosis.

“I’m in pain… my heart is breaking,” she wrote. “I’ve been married for seven years and have three children. My two-year-old has been sick, vomiting, and crying nonstop. I took her to the hospital and she was given medication, but nothing changed.”

She explained that after returning to the hospital, her daughter was tested for HIV and the results came back positive. The mother said she also tested herself and received a negative result, adding that her husband and other children also tested negative.

“I’m worried about how she contracted the virus. She’s only two years old. Why her alone?” the woman asked.

### Public Reactions

The post triggered an outpouring of reactions from social media users, many expressing sympathy while others raised questions.

Fareeda Kiri urged caution, suggesting further testing to gain clarity. Edmond echoed public confusion, questioning how only one child could test positive. Another user, Head of State, offered words of comfort, emphasising that HIV can be managed with proper medical care and treatment.

Others, including Rhoda and Babaken, described the situation as heartbreaking, while advising the family to seek further medical guidance. Queen Oma questioned whether earlier medical records or caregiving history could provide answers.

The story has since generated widespread concern, with many users encouraging the mother to focus on medical support, professional guidance, and emotional care for the child during this difficult time.
