Missing 15-Year-Old Girl Found Dead After Leaving Home With Father
Police in Hlanganani have opened a murder case following the discovery of the body of a 15-year-old girl at Rotterdam Village.
The deceased has been identified as Xilaveko Suke, who was previously reported missing together with her biological father, Peter Themba Baloyi.
According to police, Xilaveko was reported missing on Monday, 22 December 2025, after she allegedly left home with her father, reportedly travelling to Giyani. A public appeal was issued, urging community members to assist in locating the missing pair.
On Thursday, 25 December 2025, at approximately 08:50, police received a report of a body discovered at the father’s residence in Rotterdam Village. Upon arrival, the deceased’s paternal grandmother pointed out the body of a young girl inside a one-room house. Police confirmed that the body was that of the missing teenager and noted injuries consistent with a stabbing.
The whereabouts of the father remain unknown, and he is now being sought by police in connection with the murder.
Later the same day, at around 18:00, police were alerted that the father’s house had been set alight. Officers attended the scene, and investigations into the arson are currently underway.
Police have urged anyone with information that may assist in locating the suspect to come forward.
