The African National Congress (ANC) has expressed deep sadness following the passing of Dikeledi Phillistus Magadzi, a former Limpopo MEC. Magadzi passed away this morning, the party confirmed.
Magadzi served as a Member of the National Assembly from 2014 until 2023, during which time she held several key leadership positions. She was Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Transport from 2014 to 2019, then served as Deputy Minister of Transport between 2019 and 2021. From 2021 until 2023, she was Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation.
Before her tenure in national government, Magadzi also served as a Member of the Executive Council (MEC) in the Limpopo Provincial Government.
The ANC has conveyed its condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues, describing Magadzi as a dedicated public servant who contributed significantly to government and parliamentary work over many years.
