Ceiling Collapses at Northgate Mall After Heavy Rainfall
A small section of the ceiling at Northgate Shopping Centre collapsed on 27 December following heavy rainfall in the area.
Mall management confirmed that no injuries were reported, and affected areas were immediately secured and cordoned off. The shopping centre remains open and trading as usual.

Preliminary assessments indicate that severe weather, including heavy rain and hail, caused water to build up in box gutters, which overflowed and led to the isolated ceiling collapse. Management emphasized that the roof structure was not damaged and the building remains structurally sound.
Facilities and technical teams, along with specialists, are assessing the affected and nearby areas to determine necessary repairs and ensure safety.
