Shebeshxt’s Other Victim Wants Withdrawn Assault Case Revived

Polokwane, Limpopo – A man who previously opened an assault case against popular Limpopo artist Shebeshxt now wants the matter reinstated, claiming he was never consulted during the mediation process that allegedly led to the case being withdrawn.

This revelation emerged on Wednesday at the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court, where the musician — real name Lehlohonolo Chauke — is currently applying for bail in a separate attempted murder case.

According to sources close to the earlier matter, the complainant had opened an assault case after he was allegedly punched by the artist during an incident last year. The case was reportedly withdrawn after what was described as a “mediation agreement.” However, the complainant insists he was not part of any discussions or settlement.

“He wants the case to be resuscitated because he was never involved in the mediation,” a source familiar with the case told reporters. The complainant is expected to approach authorities to formally request that the case be reopened.

Meanwhile, Shebeshxt remains at the centre of growing legal troubles. His current court appearance relates to an attempted murder charge, stemming from an incident in which he allegedly rammed into another vehicle during a confrontation.

The state is opposing bail, arguing that the musician poses a danger to the community and has a pattern of violent conduct. His legal team, however, maintains that he deserves to be released pending trial, citing his career and responsibilities.

The court is expected to deliver a ruling on his bail application soon, while pressure mounts from multiple complainants seeking justice.
