SASSA Confirms January 2026 Grant Payment Dates

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially announced the payment dates for the first social grants of 2026. Beneficiaries will receive their grants in the second week of January.

📅 Here’s the January 2026 Payment Schedule

Older Persons’ Grant → 6 January 2026

Disability Grants → 7 January 2026

Children’s Grants (Child Support, Foster Child, etc.) → 8 January 2026

SASSA has asked grant recipients not to rush to withdraw funds on the exact payment date — the money will remain available in their accounts until needed.

✅ What This Means for Beneficiaries

If you receive a regular SASSA grant (old-age, disability, child grant, etc.), you’ll know exactly when to expect payment at the start of January;

The funds will stay accessible even if you don’t withdraw immediately — giving you flexibility;

As usual, the grants will be paid via approved methods: bank deposits, ATMs, or pay-points.
