Over 100 Delivery Scooter Riders Join March and March Protest Over Jobs in Pinetown

More than 100 delivery scooter operators have joined the March and March protest in Pinetown, demanding that a recruitment service provider offer them employment opportunities.

The group marched to the company’s offices to hand over a memorandum outlining their concerns about what they describe as unfair hiring practices.

According to the protesters, they are frustrated by what they call cheap labour practices, alleging that undocumented foreign nationals are being given preference for delivery jobs while many qualified South Africans remain unemployed.

The protesters have called on the recruitment company to prioritise the hiring of South African citizens and to engage with them on their concerns. They say they hope their memorandum will lead to meaningful discussions and fair employment opportunities.

The allegations made by the protesters have not been independently verified, and the recruitment company had not publicly responded to the claims at the time of reporting.
