Seven injured in serious crash on M4 south of Durban

Just before 9am, ALS Paramedics responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on the M4 southbound, just after Quality Street, south of Durban.

According to reports, a taxi and a VW Caddy were travelling south when the taxi allegedly lost control, veered across all lanes of traffic and collided with the Caddy. Both vehicles overturned and came to rest near a concrete pillar on Landsdowne Road.

Paramedics arrived to a chaotic scene, with multiple patients injured. A triage area was established, and a total of seven people from both vehicles were found to have sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious. After being stabilised on scene, all injured patients were transported to various Durban hospitals for further medical care.

The circumstances leading up to the crash are currently unknown. Members of the **South African Police Service** (SAPS) were on scene and will conduct further investigations.
