Community Shocked After Another Newborn Found Dumped
Community patrollers, Alex Water Warriors and local residents were left shocked this morning after discovering the body of a newborn baby wrapped in a black plastic bag near the Jukskei River, (next to East Bank Cemetery) in Alexandra.
The baby appeared to have been born the previous night. Police had not yet arrived when community members gathered, many of them visibly traumatised by the discovery.
This marks the third incident of a dumped baby reported in the same area within a short period. In one of the earlier cases, a baby was found alive, while another involved remains (head) discovered by residents.
This is the same area where many babies were found dumped in the past.
Community members are urging authorities to act swiftly.
