14-Year-Old on the Run After Allegedly Shooting 11-Year-Old with Father’s Firearm
Eastern Cape, 11 December 2025 – A 14-year-old boy is on the run after allegedly shooting and killing an 11-year-old boy using his father’s firearm.
Kwaaiman police officers were alerted on Wednesday to an incident at a homestead in Mqanduli, Phezukwe Wilo locality. Upon arrival, officers found that the younger boy had succumbed to his injuries in one of the rooms.
“Preliminary information indicates the 14-year-old accessed a homemade firearm his father had reportedly left loaded in a drawer before leaving for town,” the police said. “Officers are currently searching for both the boy and the firearm.”
A case of murder has been opened, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities have not ruled out possible charges against the father.
