Mmotong, Limpopo – A South African soldier is seeking justice after sustaining severe burn injuries in an alleged attack by his girlfriend.

The soldier, Moshe Manamela, from Mmotong near Polokwane, claims that his girlfriend threw hot cooking oil on him during a domestic dispute on Friday, 5 December 2025.

According to Manamela, the attack left him with significant burn wounds, prompting him to report the incident to local authorities. The soldier has called for a full investigation and for those responsible to be held accountable.

Local police have confirmed receipt of the complaint and stated that they are investigating the matter. The incident has drawn attention to the issue of domestic violence, highlighting the risks that can arise from personal disputes escalating into physical harm.

Authorities have urged victims of domestic violence to come forward and report incidents immediately, stressing the importance of swift intervention in preventing further injuries.
