Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma Praises Malawian Domestic Worker Accused of Stealing R1 Million Worth of Jewellery

March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma has sparked widespread debate after publicly praising a Malawian domestic worker who is accused of stealing jewellery worth approximately R1 million and R10,000 in cash from a home in Durban.

Reacting to the incident on social media, Jacinta wrote:

“Very well done hardworker‼️‼️‼️ 30 JUNE was the deadline but your employer thought he or she is too clever… Enjoy your winnings.”

Her comments quickly attracted mixed reactions online, with some social media users supporting her remarks while others criticised them, arguing that theft should never be celebrated regardless of the circumstances.

According to the employer, the woman had been employed as a domestic worker at the home for about seven years. The family allegedly discovered the theft after returning home at around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The missing property reportedly includes old gold jewellery, several Kruger coins valued at approximately R1 million, and R10,000 in cash. It is further alleged that the suspect may be attempting to flee to Malawi.

The matter is currently under investigation.
