IFP COUNCILLOR MBUSO MTHIMKHULU TO BE LAID TO REST IN ULUNDI.
The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has confirmed that the late PR councillor, Mbuso Mzwandile Mthimkhulu, will be laid to rest in Newlands, Ulundi, in KwaZulu-Natal.
According to a statement from the party, the funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, 7 June 2026, at the family homestead in Ward 21, Newlands, Ulundi.
Mthimkhulu, who served as a proportional representation councillor in the Rand West City Local Municipality in Gauteng, was shot and killed during a community meeting in Bekkersdal last week.

The IFP said he was elected in 2021 and served with dedication, humility, and integrity. He was also a member of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC), where he focused on accountability and good governance.
The party expressed condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, and called for justice as police continue investigating the murder. No arrests have been made so far.
The funeral will bring together party leaders, family members, and community members to honour his life and political contribution.
